Amazon trees

227 Dominate the Species

Researchers estimate that there are 390 billion trees in the Amazon Basin and 16,000 tree species, of which 227 dominate in the total number of trees. The most dominant is a palm tree. The information will help conservationists decide how to protect less common species.
