Uruguay’s gambit

Uruguayan Senate approved the measure, while the UN’s International Narcotics Control Board “warned that the move would endanger young people and ‘contribute to the earlier onset of addiction.’ A dissenting senator said: “ “We used to be known for our excellent meat and football, now the world is watching us because of our marijuana.”
