Daniel V. Schidlow, M.D. Appointed Walter H. and Leonore Annenberg Dean and Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs at Drexel University College of Medicine

Dr. Schidlow has been with the College of Medicine since 1994. He was the chairman of the Department of Pediatrics and the senior associate dean of the pediatric clinical campus. He also served as physician-in-chief and chief medical and academic officer at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. He holds appointments as professor of pediatrics, medicine, and pharmacology and physiology.

Prior to joining the College, Dr. Schidlow received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Chile in Santiago. Subsequently, Dr. Schidlow completed his residency in pediatrics at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, and a fellowship in pulmonary medicine at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. 

A leader in the study of cystic fibrosis and pulmonary conditions in children, Dr. Schidlow is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric pulmonology. As the principal investigator for numerous research studies, he has co-authored more than 180 publications and has given lectures around the globe. Dr. Schidlow has received many prestigious accolades and awards for his contributions to education and medicine, including the Golden Apple Award for excellence in teaching, the June Klinghoffer Clinical Educator Award, the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching, and recognition in America’s Best Doctors.
