Latin America 2030

Latin America in 2030 will be different but some of the same problems will persist.

The Inter-American Dialogue, the Washington based think tank, publishes a provocative piece about Latin America in 2030. The projections about Latin America are added to the report on global trends for 2030 done by the National Intelligence Council in 2012. The relevant section on implications for Latin America is contained in pages 9-10. Some of the projections may appear bland and perhaps read like a recitation of current events. As an example, see the reference to Colombia. The trends that are looked at include these categories:

1. Disruptive technology
2. Natural resources, water, energy
3. Demography and migration
4. Middle Class and development
5. Displacement of power
6. Urbanization
