Dispute Over Maritime Jurisdiction

Latin America’s border disputes are mostly history. Yet recently the World Court ruled in favor of Nicaragua regarding disputed Caribbean waters. Colombia rejected the verdict, thereby setting up another appeal by Nicaragua. The rumor of “potentially oil rich areas” complicates matters.
