Obama in Latin America

Obama Visits Mexico and Costa Rica

The President’s visit underscored the close relationship between the United States and Latin America. Issues on the agenda included trade and security, which are vital concerns of the people of Mexico and Central America. While the visit made headline news in those countries coverage in the United States has been scant at best, and often about domestic matters rather than foreign. To some degree this is understandable, US-Latin American relations are becoming more complex because the domestic and foreign are intertwined.
