One of the primary goals of the Association is education, through the encouragement of academic study, cultural exchange, and the presentation of a continuing series of seminars and lectures on contemporary issues affecting relationships between the people and nations of the Western Hemisphere. In addition, the Association maintains three academic scholarships, two of which encourage student achievement in Latin American studies at area colleges and universities and a third which benefits the performing arts.
