Protests in Argentina

In this report the Voice of America analyzes the serious problems facing the Argentine government. Recent large protests in the streets highlight the increasing opposition to the high cost of living, official corruption, monetary controls, and an effort by the government to weaken the judicial system. The size of the protest and the fact that the opposition came together raises serious concerns within the Kirchner administration about reelection in 2015, and especially the legislative elections coming up in October of this year.
