We are a concerned group of people from the Philadelphia area who share an interest in the people and countries of the New World - the Americas. We are from all walks of life, and from all of the countries of the Western Hemisphere. We are educators, political scientists, diplomats, business and community leaders, students, and just plain concerned citizens. 

Regardless of our heritage or experience, we all share a common goal – to pursue “Panamericanismo” – that special relationship that exists among the people and countries of the Western Hemisphere.

As members of the Pan American Association, we wish to deepen our knowledge of the countries of the Western Hemisphere, broaden our friendships, and enjoy the infinite variety of the social and cultural experience of our family of nations.

During the year we carry out a calendar of varied events that are open to members and their guests, and which highlight many aspects of the Western Hemisphere's political, social and cultural environment.

Principal Activities Include:

• Scholarships and Awards - Annual scholarships, prizes and awards issued on a competitive basis to students who excel in Latin American studies at area colleges and universities.
• Contemporary Lectures - Guest speakers who are subject-matter experts in Western Hemisphere matters affecting the political, social, and cultural relationships among the peoples of the Americas.
• Social Events - seasonal parties and cultural get-togethers are held periodically, to build comraderie among members, recruit new members, and to support the Association's fundraising for scholarships and educational programs. 
• Joint Ventures - the Association cooperates with a wide variety of organizations involved in educational, social, and cultural activities related to the Western Hemisphere, as well as many Philadelphia-based community organizations.
