Recently Vice President Joe Biden visited Colombia, Trinidad-Tobago, and Brazil. Purpose of the trip was to promote trade and cooperation on energy. VP Biden wrote an article in the Wall Street Journal, trumpeting the promising future of Latin America and the need for stronger engagement between the United States and Latin America. Mary O’Grady, the Journal’s feisty Latin American correspondent, took umbrage and criticized him for, among other things, being a recent convert to free trade (notably the free trade agreement with Colombia), something that he and his party had opposed.

The Pan American Association of Philadelphia is excited to announce that it will hold its 85th Annual Meeting and William J. Clothier II Memorial Award on October 29, 2025 at the Union League of Philadelphia. We are pleased to announce that H. E. Esteban Moctezuma Barragán, Ambassador of Mexico to the United States, will be our Keynote Speaker, and the William J. Clothier II Award will be presented to David M. Vahos, President and CEO of PECO.
