Brazilian Movie about Life in the Favelas

Leandro Firmino's portrayal of drug dealer Li'l Ze

Ten years ago the Brazilian movie Cidade de Deus (City of God) came out and made quite an international impact. It depicted life in the favela , focusing on  crime and the impact on children. The movie is based on the real life story of a boy of the favela who later became a famous news photographer.  The article reports that the City of God favela has been pacified.
