Colombian Government and FARC Negotiate

Peace

The Colombian government and the FARC have been holding peace talks in Havana for a year. For the first time ever the talks appear to be promising. President Juan Manuel Santos is optimistic that a deal can be made by 2014. But there obstacles on the road to peace, including the money the FARC would lose by giving up their guns.
