Inter-American Dialogue Experts Comment on VP Biden Visit to Brazil

Brazil and US

The Inter-American Dialogue is one of the best think tanks on Latin American affairs. It brings together distinguished scholars and private and public sector experts to produce timely publications and informed opinion on the gamut of hemispheric matters. In this article various commentators answer the question of where does bilateral cooperation  between the US and Brazil stand. Trade dominates the discussion. Peter Hakim calls the US-Brazil relationship “…like vanilla ice cream—sweet, but rather bland.” The metaphor is inappropriate. Good vanilla ice cream is not bland.
