Ecuador Decides To Drill for Oil in Sensitive Natural Preserve

President Rafael Correa announced, against significant opposition at home and abroad, that Ecuador would drill for oil in the biodiversity rich Yasuni National Park. This came after his failed campaign to gather enough international financial contributions to equal the revenues lost from not drilling.  Yasuni is home to a remarkable variety of flora and fauna, including rare species.
